Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Email addresses in comments are used only to communicate with you about your comment.

Contact forms

When you use a contact form, we collect your email address and the IP address. Contact form submission data includes IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message. This data is checked for spam by the Antispam Bee plugin. The data is retained on our site until it is deleted. Email addresses in contact forms are used to respond to you about your contact. IP addresses are used for the purpose of identifying spam. Email addressed submitted through contact forms are used to communicate with you about your contact. You can by-pass contact forms at any time by emailing us at chris@lifespringwriting.com.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. If you disable cookies in your browser, some site features may not be available.

We use PayPal invoicing to conduct business transactions. We provide PayPal with the following information: your email address, the services you have purchased, and the amount of the transaction. How long we retain your data

If you use a contact form, the message and its metadata will be removed from the website within six months. It will be retained in a private email account indefinitely in order to do business and to improve site content and presentation.

Aggregated analytics data will be retained indefinitely. Tracking data that is associated with cookies, user identifiers, or advertising identifiers is removed after a period of 14 months.

Customer service and purchase records will be kept for ten years.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
